(Unless you haven't bathed and then ..you know...that's on you, but spiritually speaking ---->

Sometimes...most of the time it's out of our control.  Like with anything else they run further away the more you try to persuade them that there's nothing but assurance and love awaiting them. It's just how it is.  We run from what we don't recognize. It's frightening to think of facing something unknown especially when it might hurt. Adam and Eve hid. Noah ran (swam/floated/digested?) Aaron questioned. Thomas doubted. Peter looked down. Even those that are knowing of conviction run and hide from truth when it scares them. In cases where you are trying to share the truth with someone and they run, they run because they're scared. It's not you....usually. (There are exceptions due to technique, but I'll just assume they are not the majority.) I have. I promise I will more than likely hide again. I'm bad that way.

Alas!....God has molded and mended his own creation time and time again throughout existence, so he is capable of melting the heart of those seemingly untouched by Him.  It is out of love and trusting that God will hear our prayers that we can wait patiently for the day we can approach those loved ones with confidence and acceptance of the story we want to share. Patience.  Continue to stand in the gap for them, and give this over to God. Until then, allow God to embrace you. He can do it better anyways. :)
